Today was Patrick's first trip to the beach. It wasn't the perfect beach day. (It was a little cool and cloudy) but because he is so pale I thought a cloudy day might be best. The poor little guy had no idea what to think about the beach at first. He insisted on being held by either me or my mom. As the morning went on he became a bit more brave and, all in all I think he had a fun day.

Day at Grammy J's
This past Sunday we were able to take a trip down to see Ken's parents. We had such a nice day. The weather was cloudy but warm so Patrick was able to spend the whole afternoon roaming aroud the fenced in backyard. Unfortunatly, the pool at about 74 degrees was too chilly for Patrick. Not for me though! After a cookout it was time to head back home.

Turning 50
Yesterday was my Mom's 50th birthday party. All she wanted was for her kids and their significant other's all to get together. Well she got that plus some more. We all had a great time cooking out playing beanbags and just celebrating another year of Q! Happy birthday Mom.

Off to Boston
Katie and I had wanted to take my Grammy to Boston for a while, and on Friday we finally got the chance. So, me Grammy and my Auntie Cindy headed up on the hottest day of the summer (which this year isn't saying much). We met Katie at the Museum of Science, and went to see the lightning show which was fun but loud. After the show we went to see the Butterfly Garden and Auntie Cindy discovered she's a butterfly magnet. After the museum we were off to Harvard Square for lunch and a quick stop at Katie's apartment. Then it was down to Boston Common and the Public Gardens for a ride on the Swan Boats. After a long but fun day we headed home. I know I was tired and I'm sure they were too!

Summer Time Fun
I love summer! It's just so relaxing. Tonight Patrick and I headed over to Dan and Jaime's house for dinner. We had such a good time. Both my parents, and sister, came as well. It was supposed to be Kenny's first day back at work, but he was sad he was going to miss the party and took a vacation day!
Once at Dan's, Kathryn decided she had a need for speed, and wanted to ride Dan's bike. Then to compare and contrast she had to ride Kenny's too. We finished up the evening playing beanbags and eating ice cream pie. Yum!

Last Day
On our last full day in New Hampshire, we headed to Loon Mt. We rode the gondola to the top, and saw the views from the tops. We also took turns crawling through the glacier caves, which I felt must be similar to being born.
The next morning it was time to go. We had time for one last picture of me and Kenny, and a picture of Patrick with his favorite dog at the campground. It was a wonderful vacation full of memories, and we hope to do it again next year.

Hobos for a Day
Our next day we woke up to some drizzle so we decided to drive north to Sugar Hill and do some shopping. We stopped at The Sampler and the on to a place that sells really great cheddar. PJ found a new cat friend to play with and followed it through the fields. On the way back to the campground we saw a Mom and baby moose by the side of the road.
The afternoon still looked dreary so we headed to Hobo RailRoad for a train ride. At this point in the day PJ was tired and not at his best. He was excited to ride the train, but got very annoyed when he found out he could not roam up and down all of the cars. He had a rare meltdown, and finally fell asleep in Mat's arms. He perked up after the train ride and played on the Hobo playground.

The Basin
Our next day was kind of rainy so we spent some time at the campground. Patrick liked playing in the travel trailer we stayed in. We also had some ducks that walked around the campground and begged for food. I liked feeding the ducks, and PJ liked chasing them out of the campsite. That afternoon the weather cleared up and we were able to go and hike The Basin.

We are Crazy
After we finished up at Wildcat we were so close to Mt. Washington that we decided to head over. Kenny has always wanted to drive up it, and I reluctantly agreed. For the most part the drive up wasn't too bad. I only freaked out when we couldn't see more than a car length in front of us because of the fog. The wind was really whiping too! I can't believe people used to do that drive with a horse and buggy. When we reached the summet we couldn't see too much because of the fog. It was really cold too. The base was about 68 degrees, but the summet was 34 degrees. I got some amazing shots on the way down. Patrick, true to form slept the whole way up and about half way down.

Finally we are down!
Yay for us! We made it.

Next Up
Our next adventure took us to Wildcat Mountain. Neither Kenny or I had ever been there. We took the gondola to the top and had lots of fun hiking around. The also have a really cool zip rider which Kenny and I took turns doing. No pictures of that unfortunately, because Kenny wasn't paying attention when I was on it.

We're Back!
Well folks, we're back! Did you miss us? We arrived back from our week in New Hampshire yesterday afternoon, but I was too tired to post any pictures. I'll try to get everything done tonight, but we'll see. Our first full day in New Hampshire we went to Cannon Mountain. Unfortunately, it has been almost as rainy in NH as it has been here. They even had to speed up our tram because the mountain was getting lightning strikes. Once we got to the top we were stuck there for a while. After a bit the fog began clearing and we hiked around for a bit, but we didn't stray too far in case there was more lightning.
