Fall Fun

This fall has been crazy busy for us. I can't belive how fast it's gone by. Patrick is loving school, and making new friends every day. I can't believe this is his last year of preschool. He has begun reading on his own, and is starting to be able to add and subtract. Renee is chattering up a storm. She has some big ideas, and is getting very loud about expressing her opinions. She also has been throwing some temper tantrums lately, which I'm hoping is just the "Terrible Twos". Because I'm very behind on the blog, I've assembled some pictures that capture the "highlights" of the fall.

Sports Stars in Training

I never thought I'd be one to have my kids in a million activities, however, I was wrong. This fall has been incrediably busy for us. Patrick has been wanting to play on a soccer team since he was two. This year he was finally old enough, so I signed him up at the YMCA. Turns out he's a little superstar in training. His team played four games, and Patrick scored at least one goal per game. Most games he scored at least two. In fact, he scored more goals than anyone else in the league combined. :) While Patrick was playing soccer, Miss Renee wanted to join a dance class. She is quite the little diva. She loves the time she spends in "tap tap, ballet" as she calls it. She even puts on her dancing shoes and dances around the house every day. Both kids are also in gymnastics. Renee goes with Kenny on Mondays, and Patrick goes on Tuesdays with me. Both are begining to improve their tumbling, and they love it.

Point Sebago ME

Our last big camping trip of the season was to Point Sebago ME. This trip was awesome. The resort had everything the kids, and us grownups could have wanted to do. The lake was over 45 miles long, and this resort had a great piece of it. They had a big beach, a fishing pond, and an area for boats. While at the resort, the boys became a whirlwind of activity. They went to fishing camp. They rode kayaks, and played mini golf. They also went fishing on their own every day. Patrick even caught his first fish. A large mouth bass. Poor Kenny didn't catch anything. While the boys went fishing, Miss Renee and I became beach bums. We went to the beach for hours every day. While at the resort, we were able to go to a dinner show, and also a sunset cruise. The kids loved riding on the boat so much, we were able to go twice. Point Sebago was a wonderful way to wrap up summer of traveling.

New Hampshire 2012

Our camping adventures continued this summer with a week at Saco River Campground. We went with the Doraz Family. It was our first time vacationing with another family. It was awesome. I couldn't believe how well all of the kids got along. The campground had everything you could possibly want to do. We floated down the rivver on tubes, and even go to ride in a giant shopping cart. The boys even invented a game called "Stinky Girl". Renee was the stinky girl, and chased the boys all over the place trying to get them with her stinky feet. We had great time at Story Land together. Everyone got turns choosing rides, and the kids had loved trading adults. The best part was even Renee and Jack were big enough to ride the rides. Renee's favorite ride was the rollar coaster, and Patrick's was "all of it." Santa's Village we decided to do on seperate days so we could have some family time. Our day was great. We rode all of the rides, and the kids had a wonderful time making gingerbread cookies. We had so many picturs from the week I had to chose some of my favorites. :)

Ben and Jerry's

My Dad's one requirement for camping in Vermont was taking a trip to Ben and Jerry's. Of course he received no strong objections. :)Both the kids had fun, and couldn't wait to try the ice cream. My Dad paid close attention to everything. (I think he maybe he wanted to steal a few secrets to make his own ice cream.) It was a super fun day full of family, fun and ICE CREAM.

Vermont Part 1

This past weekend Kenny, my brother and a few friends ran in the New England Tough Mudder. The race was 10 miles, and full of obstacles, like ice cold water, fire and electricity. The boys did great. They all finished the race, and no one sustained any major injuries.
The kids did great too. Pat had never ridden a ski lift before, and really wanted to try it. So, him and I took the lift to the top of the mountain to surprise the boys. He loved the ski lift ride, and then we had to hike down the mountain. All the way down, he kept saying "I'm a tough mudder. I'm a tough mudder." Renee did great too. While Pat and I were off our adventure she was a trooper and hung out with my Mom and my Dad.

I think the sign says it all.
