Sad Day

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Today we had a very sad day. Our kitty Belle died after a very short illness. She wasn't the nicest or sweetest cat but we loved her and will miss her. Goodbye Miss Belle J.

I love that rainbow bridge piece...it always brings tears to my eyes..perhaps out where all our animal friends are buried I will do a rainbow bridge theme.
I will miss Belle's welcoming "screech" that she always greeted us with when we arrived at your house.
Love, Mom

Here's a stupid question. Which one was Belle? Was she always hiding?

Belle was the one who greeted everybody with her screaming meow. She was also the one who was my 2nd bed mate every night. She would come to bed with me every day for the past 4 years. She would sit upon my chest and I would pet her. She would also lay across me and we would go to sleep every night. She also didn't like any other animals on the bed she would chase them off the bed by swatting and anybody or anyone. She never hid on us just when she had a hair ball she would be by herself for a few hours.

Here is the story
We took Belle to the vet for a checkup last wed. She was normal and usual prior to going. After her getting a shot not sure which one and then we left. She was quiet when we were in the car which started to raise a red flag with me. We left for vacation last thursday and she didn't come for breakfast. She basically hid while we were on vacation and we didn't find her until monday afternoon after I got home from work. She looked ill so I brought her to the vet and he stated that she didn't look good. She got some medicine and had some blood work done. I got the results back from the vet and he stated that he didn't know what was wrong with her. He is a vet for over 20 years and this case baffled him. Yesterday morning she still didn't look to good. She drank a little bit of water but thats it. I came home from work early and checked on her and she didn't look very well. I was already assuming the worse case senerio for wednesday morning. I get back to work and Beth called me at 1:30pm stating that we need to go to the vet and have Belle put done because she was deathly ill. I said ok I'm on my way home. By the time I got home Belle had already passed away and wasn't suffering anymore.
