Christmas Afternoon

After Christmas morning we went back to our house for Patrick's nap. Once he woke up Kenny's parents came over for Christmas dinner. I cooked an absolutely yummy meal if I do say so myself. This was by far one of the best Christmases I've ever had!

Christmas Morning 2009

Christmas morning arrived and Patrick was not thrilled. He totally refused to open any presents, although he liked playing with his new toys. After Christmas morning at our house, we went to my Mom's for breakfast and presents there. Once again Patrick refused to open any presents. He did like looking at every one's loot, and it was great we were all able to be there together.

What is the meaning of this?!

Christmas Eve 2009

This Christmas Eve was a great one! We had our annual Christmas Eve party this year at my Aunt Jan and Uncle Dave's. Patrick had such a great time running laps around the house with his cousin Kerrin. Because it was a special occasion Patrick was alowed to have whatever he wanted for dinner, which turned out to be Cheetos.

Blizzard 2009

The blizzard of 2009.... What can we say about it? When I left work on Friday they were predicting about 4-6 inches, and by last night they were calling for 15-20 inches. That's quite a difference. I think we've ended up with about 15 or 16 inches.
Last winter Patrick wasn't walking too well yet, so he didn't get to spend much time in the snow. This year, however, he was ready! After a battle getting into his snow suit, we headed out. He was very unsure at first. ( I had to carry him everywhere.) Once I got him settled into his sled he was okay. Once we had been out for a little while, he tried walking in the snow (see video below). By the end of our time outside he was having a great time, and screamed until he turned bright red when I brought him in. He even kept his hood and mittens on, (for those of you who know my son, also know that was a first!)

Trimming the Tree Part 2

After work tonight I stopped by my parent's house to help them trim their tree. I thought Patrick might be a bit more calm since this is his second tree trimming in two days. Hahahahaha! Boy was he a nut. Check out our fun times below.

Trimming the Tree

Today was the day to trim our tree. It snowed a tiny bit last night, and it was very cold. Perfect December weather. Earlier this fall we tagged our tree at the Pleasant St. Christmas Farm, and we went today to pick it up. We thought Patrick would have a blast riding in the tractor drawn wagon after we re found our tree. We were wrong. He hated it! He kept bouncing between me and Kenny as if he was trying to decide who could keep him safe from all of the cut down trees in the wagon. It also got really cold and the poor little guy kept tearing up.

Later this afternoon, Kenny's parents came by to help decorate the tree. We had dinner and then Patrick "helped" all of us decorate. See Patrick's version of helping in the very short video; The Great Ornament Chase 2009.

I'm not so sure about this

I do not think riding next to a tree is safe

La Salette

This past Thursday me, my parents, Dan and Jamie went to La Salette in Attleboro. Boy did we make quite the Motley Crew. Patrick was disgusted by the live donkey and refused to go near it. He also insisted on seeing all of the lights at warp speed. Dad and Dan were making jokes that the Christmas bells looked like the Arby's logo. I of course found that hilarious, and my Mom had to scold them ( and me too. :) ). I'm surprised Jamie didn't run screaming. Patrick even got his first carousel ride. I was so impressed with how well he did. (He prefers pretend animals to real ones. At least they don't smell.) All in all, it was a great time! We did miss both Kenny and Kathryn though. Hopefully, we can do some more family stuff with them soon!

We are here. Now let's do La Salette at Patrick speed!

For real this time

Hi everyone, I'm not lying this time. It's time to reveal the sex of Johnson baby
#2. Today we had our second Thanksgiving dinner over at Auntie's. Kathryn was chatting with us on Skype and we had Dan on the phone so they all wanted to know what Baby #2 is. I was fine with telling everyone whenever they wanted, so as long as K was cool with it so was I. Drum roll please! Johnson baby #2 will be making HER arrival in mid April. Both Kenny and I are very excited at the idea of giving Patrick a little sister. No name yet, but we're working on it so keep sending suggestions our way. Ta for now all!

Thanksgiving Redo

Today was Thanksgiving Redo at Auntie's. What a big crowed she had today. Almost everyone was able to make it. Andy made his delicious fried turkey (I'm told it's delicious, I've never had it) and there was all of the rest of the Thanksgiving fixings. I think the highlight of the afternoon for most of us was getting to talk with Katie on Skype. She's been in Paris since September and we all miss her. Less than two weeks then she'll be home. All in all a great Thanksgiving weekend!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and boy was it a busy one. We have so much to be thankful for this year. We started the day waking up early and watching Kenny run in a 5K. He did great finishing 27th out of 285 people. Yay! Run Forest Run!

Please let me in. I want to swim

After the race... A silly family photo

Then, we headed to my Mom's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Yummy. What could be better than Tofurkey, with all the fixings? It was such a great day full of family and friends. I can't wait until next year for a repeat this time with Johnson baby
#2.

It's a .............

Mystery! I had my 20 week ultrasound today. Everything looked great. Baby J is developing right on schedule, and like it's brother, it's a total wiggle worm. Both Ken and I know the sex of the baby. As many of you know my sister is in France until 12/10. She really wanted to be here when we told everyone, so she's made us promise not to tell. So if you want to blame someone for not knowing if the latest Baby J is a boy or a girl, blame Kathryn. :)

P.S. Ken and I can't agree on any names, so send along your suggestions.

Family Day

Things are starting to get very busy for us. This past weekend might be our last family outing until January as Kenny's work gets more and more busy. Not to worry faithful readers, Patrick and I will continue to trek here and there and I'll be sure to post about our adventures.
One of the only good things about getting the aftermath of a tropical storm is once it leaves we usually get a day or two of warm weather. On Sunday we took advantage of the warm temperatures and headed to Mystic. We haven't been to the aquarium there in several years, and we had a great time. Patrick loves water so he was in heaven. All day long we got to hear water, water, water. His favorite exhibits were the beluga whales, and the baby California sea lions. He wasn't able to sit still for the sea lion show though, so him and I went back to the whales while Kenny watched the show.

Welcome to the aquarium. The place with lots of water.

Hi water!

Ahhh! This is the life.

You can't make me go to the sea lion show!

It's begining to look a lot like

Christmas! I know I should have a Halloween post up, but with Patrick being afraid of costumes, we really didn't do too much on Saturday. On Sunday we went to tag our Christmas tree in Rehoboth. Patrick loved roaming around the trees, and hiding from us. He really liked helping us pick our tree. We told him to choose one he liked and he ran off found a few and started hiting them with sticks. Unfortunatly, those trees were already tagged. It took awhile, but we finally found a tree that met with Patrick approval.

It takes two Johnson's to be as tall as one Christmas tree!

I think this one might be good
