Yeeeehaw!

Last night my parents and I took the kids to the Rehoboth Fair. We met up with Em, Andy, Ce and Auntie, and had a great time. Patrick of course loved the rides. He also had the best time with Ce. I think those two will be great buddies in the coming years. His favorite thing however was the tractors. He watched them work, watched them just sitting there, and watched them doing tractor pull.
Renee wasn't overly thrilled with the fair. It was past her bedtime so she was doing lots and lots of "talking" making sure we all knew about it. Not too many animal pictures as none of the kids were particularly thrilled by them. The only sad part of the fair was no Kenny. Next year for sure!

Off to the Zoo

Today was yet another scorcher in our summer of heat. We met up with Dawn, Connor and Jack at Capron Park zoo. The big guys had fun running around looking at a few of the animals. Then we ended up at the splash park. The little ones had fun watching their older siblings and laying on the blanket.

Off we go

Some Firsts

Today was a day of firsts for Patrick. Today was the first time since we've started potty training that he stayed dry all day. He was even dry throughout his whole nap. Today he also called me Mommy for the first time instead of Mama or Momma. It made me cry.

While I was thinking about my little guy, I decided to write down some of the funny words he uses, because sooner or later he'll stop using them, and I don't want to forget. So without further ado here are some Patrickisms:

Nunga Nunga= Get or refill my sippy cup NOW!

Whuppas= Glasses that you wear

Bos Bos= Boston

Trains= roller coasters

Boat slides= Log Flume

Cedric his monkey is Ced, and Renee's pink cat is Ced Pink.

Ducks eat quarters. ( he puts the quarters into the machine to get the duck food)

He also refers to himself as Pat Pat.

Renee not to be outdone has been a busy little girl herself. She's learned how to rollover, which is awesome! I have yet to see her do it. I turn around, or look the other way, and over she goes. I just get to see her on her belly. The other day she rolled into the grass. I looked over to see her trying to munch away on some of it looking so pleased with herself. She's also really getting into giggling. She's got a great little chuckle. I'll try to get it on video soon. She also loves the bath, which coincidentally is where most of the giggling happens.

I'll be going back to work soon, and while I'm grateful to have a job in such trying times, I'm really going to miss hanging with my Motley Crew.

Busy, Busy Week

People who know me well, know that I can't stay at home for too long before going stir crazy. Well, I've been home since April. So, I've been trying to spend a lot of time out and about with the kiddos while Kenny's at work. This past week was my Mom's birthday so we all went to over to her house to celebrate.

Can we please have some cake?

Happy Birthday Q

On Wednesday my sister and I took the kids to the Boston Children's Museum. Renee wasn't too sure she liked Boston. She found it very overstimulating. Pat had the best time hanging with his Auntie K and riding the train. He can't wait to go back this week.

Yay Science!

Our week wrapped with a trip to the Providence Children's museum with my mom. Patrick had a great time running around and checking everything out. Renee found Providence a little bit easier to take than Boston.

Vacation Part 3

One of our favorite places on our vacation was Story Land. Patrick had so much fun we actually went twice. Once again Patrick loved the boats. Because it was so hot (again) we let him ride as often as he wanted to.

This was a very busy but great vacation. We had our good times. ( Santa's Village, Story Land). And we had our not so fun times. (95 degree heat for most of the vacation)I can't wait to do it again next year. Except maybe in a condo with ac and a pool rather than a hot cabin. :)

The boats go up, up, up. Then they go down.

The More the Merrier

For part of our vacation my parents and sister came up for a visit. It was great to have all of the extra helping hands. Because it was so hot, we spent one afternoon at their hotel where there was a pool, and AC! Patrick had a great time splashing in the pool, and actually went swimming.
The next morning we headed off to Santa's Village for Patrick's first visit. He loved the Rudolph Express and the flume. Renee was worn out from all of the heat and spent most of the day snoozing. Poor girl missed all of the fun.
After spending a great but really hot day at Santa's Village, we decided it was too hot to go back to our unairconditioned cabin so we checked into a hotel. It was nice to be able to relax and unwind after our busy day.

Vacation part 1

Well... We're back from our vacation extravaganza. It was a real challenge taking two kids on vacation, but we had fun. Patrick loved the campground. He spent our whole vacation running around the campground, riding his bike, and playing in the dirt. Renee spent her time on vacation watching Patrick play, and watching the trees.

Can't fit another thing!
