Day out with Daddy

This year for Christmas I gave Kenny and Patrick tickets to Monster Jam at the Dunk. Kenny was so excited to go. He remembered going as a kid, and couldn't wait to take Patrick. That morning Patrick was a little nervous, but still excited.

The boys had a great time! They got there early so they could meet the drivers and see the trucks up close. Then, later in the day they watched the trucks race and crash. Grave Digger was the winner of the day. Patrick really can't wait to go back next year.

Won't you be my Valentine?

We had a great Valentine's Day this year. Both kids were big enough to get really excited about the day. Pat had a great time helping me get ready. The weekend before we made a mailbox for his Valentine's at school. The box turned out exactly like he wanted. Also that weekend, Pat also begged me to take him to La Salette to see the lights. Even though it was freezing cold, I agreed. We took a hayride all through the paths, and got to see all of the lights. It was super cold, but pretty.

The night before Valentine's Day, the kids and I went to the craft store, and picked up supplies so I could decorate in the morning. Pat and I baked a cake and hid it so he could give it to Daddy on Valentines. On Valentine's morning, I got up super early and decorated the kitchen. Then, I made a yummy breakfast, and woke everyone up. We opened our gifts, and had a family breakfast before I had to go to work.

Mini Mudders

This summer Kenny is planning on running in a Tough Mudder Race. Basically, it's 10 miles through obstacles and really tough terrain. Patrick has been hearing him talk about it, and has been running "races" outside. Today, I decided to build him his own obstacle course in the back yard. He sad he's going to practice so he can run with Daddy in his race this summer. Renee even got in on the course.

Christmas

Christmas this year was a lot of fun. No one, was sick for starters. We got up early and opened gifts here. All Pat asked for Christmas was a yellow airplane and a chugwash. Well, since he was such a good boy, Santa brought him both. Renee, was excited because her brother was excited. She kept saying "wow. wow." Her favorite part of opening gifts was her stocking.
After we opened gifts here, we went to my parents and opened gifts there. We got to relax, have breakfast and spend time together.
Later in the day, Grammy and Grampy J came over. I cooked a spectacular dinner and we wrapped up Christmas relaxing together.

Wow! Look at what Santa's brought us!

Merry Christmas from Edaville

Right before Christmas Pat wanted to go back to Edaville to ride the trains. So, my parents and I bundled up the kids and headed down to Carver. Both kids had a great time despite how cold it was. Pat took Renee up in the airplanes, then we headed to the train. The lights were really pretty, and both the kids had fun. Patrick was very serious and watched them all, while Renee was a total goof ball. She jumped between my Dad and me and kept hanging upside down. After the train ride, Renee rode a few small rides with Grandma and Papa, while Pat and I rode the tilt-a-whirl over and over again. I'm glad I still have stomach of steel.

Pre-Christmas Fun

This year Christmas was supper busy, so I haven't had much time to post. Just before Christmas we have a few fun times.

At the beginning of December we went to my parents to wait for Santa to come by on the fire truck. Last year both the kids were very nervous. This year they were both super excited. They also loved the lollipops he threw. Renee's favorite words of the season became "pop peese." That night we took the kids to La Salette so they could finally ride the carousel.

We can hardly wait!

Later in December Patrick had a sing-a-long at his school. Both the kids were so excited. Pat and I baked cookies for his friends. Then I got them into jammies and we headed to school. Santa came to sing and both kids got to sing and dance with all of Pat's friends.

So excited!

Yummy cookies!
